About Red Lodge, MT - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The City of Red Lodge serves as the county seat of Carbon County. It is found within the Billings Metro Area, and as of 2010, about 2,200 people resided here. Red Lodge is a scenic 60-mile drive to Billings, Montana, and Cody, Wyoming is about the same distance to the south of the city. However, Red Lodge is far enough away from these other cities to be a community of its own. It even plays host to a popular triathlon known as the Peaks to Prairie, which is held each April.
There are plenty of interesting things to see and do in Red Lodge. Outdoor recreation is bountiful, with prime destinations including Red Lodge Mountain, Wild Bill Lake, and Lake Fork Trail. Skiing, fly fishing, and mountain biking are all popular recreational activities. The Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary serves as a home to over 40 non-releasable animals that are native to the state, including black bears, mountain lions, and bison. The Carbon County Historical Society and Museum will teach visitors more about the history of the region, and art lovers will want to visit the Carbon County Art Guild and Depot Gallery.
The climate in Red Lodge is typical of a continental zone. Winters are cold and snowy, and considerable snow will fall during the average season. Temperatures frequently fall below freezing, so residents need to invest in a reliable gas or electric furnace for their comfort and safety. The best thing that Red Lodge property owners can do for their heating system is to invest in annual maintenance, which allows systems to work at peak efficiency with fewer breakdowns.
The autumn and spring seasons in Red Lodge are mild and rainy, and summers here are very warm. Thermostat readings average at about 79 degrees for July and August high temperatures. Many locals have swapped out their window A/C units for central air conditioning systems, and they enjoy consistent cooling regardless of how high temperatures rise outdoors.
